Man almost committed suicide in Lefkosa when he tried to jump from the roof of a building

A man was rescued on Sunday when he tried to jump from the roof of a building in an apparent suicide attempt in Küçük Kaymaklı, north Cyprus .

The incident happened in Küçük Kaymaklı on Sunday when the man climbed to the roof of an apartment building in an attempt to take his life. 

The police were alerted to the incident and arrived quickly at the scene. They were able to persuade him for a long time to come down.

According to report, the man who could not be identified claimed he was unemployed and that his child was taken away from him.

He refused to follow the police by entering under the police vehicle when they tried to take him to the station for questioning. 

He was removed from under the vehicle with force and taken to the station.
