Greek Cypriot youths set TRNC flag on fire

A group of Greek Cypriot youths were pictured on Saturday burning the TRNC flag in southern Cyprus.

The incident was criticized by the TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay in a statement on Saturday.

Özersay in the statement reacting to the incident said;

I have just met with our Chief Police Officer and Chief Prosecutor about the burning of the TRNC flag by ELAM members on the Greek side. In consultation with the United Nations, we will identify the images and take the necessary action. Those who do not respect the flag and similar symbols and values ​​of those who are different from them are those who have not received their share from civilization.
