Friday is public holiday in North Cyprus to celebrate TRNC 36th anniversary
Friday, November 15 is public holiday in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The day mark the 36th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC.
The day will be celebrated with a variety of events across the country.
Celebrations will kick off at noon tomorrow with an address to the nation by President Mustafa Akıncı on Bayrak Radio Television.
At the same time a 21 gun salute will take place.
A ceremony will be held at 3 in the afternoon at the late Turkish Cypriot leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük’s mausoleum in Lefkoşa.
Some major routes in Lefkosa and other parts of the country will be closed to traffic.
As part of the celebrations, the Turkish Air Forces Aerobatics Team Solo Turk will perform above the skies of Girne on the day.
