Cyprus Weather Report: Rain, dust and thunderstorms expected as unsettled weather hits the island

Rain is expected across the island on Friday due to a low pressure system in the area, while dust levels will remain higher than normal.

Friday will be cooler with clouds expected to build up later in the day, with rain and thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon, mainly in the west and north.

Temperatures are expected to reach 26C inland and in coastal areas and 17C in the higher mountains, which is normal for the time of year.

At night, temperatures will fall to 13C in and around Nicosia/Lefkosa, 15C to 17C in coastal areas. 

Temperatures will gradually rise again over the weekend.

Dust is expected across the island too which will subsides on Friday afternoon.

Vulnerable groups are advised to stay indoors because inhaling small dust particles can be harmful to human health.
