Two students arrested for document forgery at Turkish embassy in Lefkosa

Five people including three illegal residents and two others accused for document forgery were arrested in the last few days in north Cyprus.

According to a police bulletin on Thursday, three people who were found to be residing in the country without a resident permit were arrested during a raid carried out in Kyrenia on Wednesday.

In another development, two students were arrested at the Turkish Embassy in Lefkosa on Wednesday for trying to obtain a visa by changing the date on a student certificate.

They reportedly submitted a university student document in their name after changing the date of the document issued by the relevant institution in order to obtain a visa. 

The document was found to be fake, and the persons arrested.
