Student arrested for illegal residency in north Cyprus brought to court in Lefkosa
A student who was identified and arrested for living in the TRNC illegally was brought before a judge at a court in Lefkosa on Wednesday.
The student was detained by Turkish Cypriot police in a raid in Lefkosa on Tuesday night.
Police prosecutor said the student came into the country on January 11, 2016, but have been living in the country illegally for some time.
Police request for more time from the judge to investigate what the accused has been doing in the country during the period.
The student was ordered to remain in police custody for two more days pending investigation.
