Poor driving standards responsible for majority of accidents in North Cyprus

A report by the Turkish Cypriot police revealed that there were 77 vehicle collisions on the roads between 16-22 September, which is as a result of poor driving standards.

According to the report by Yeniduzen, 23 people were injured in the accidents last week.

Speeding was the cause of 25 of the accidents, 17 by failing to stop at the intersection, 15 by following too closely the vehicle in front, 10 by careless driving and 10 due other factors.

Lefkosa had the highest number of collisions with 23, closely followed by 22 in Kyrenia, 21 in Famagusta, 6 in Iskele and 5 in Güzelyurt.
