“No, you’re not having my money!” 81-year-old woman fights off thief who tried to steal her bank card
“No, you’re not having my money!” That’s what a fed-up granny declared when a thief attempted to attack her at an ATM.
Doreen
Jones was targeted in the United Kingdom as she withdrew cash by a
woman holding a piece of paper and gesturing at her mouth.
The twice-widowed pensioner told the thug to leave her alone but she barged in front of Doreen and tried to steal her bank card.
Footage shows the hero pensioner snatching the card back from the suspect before grabbing her by her hair and collar.
The would-be mugger ended up fleeing the scene in Birmingham empty-handed thanks to Doreen’s heroics.
Speaking to BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow, Doreen said:
Police
have now released the footage in a bid to catch the female suspect
after the attempted robbery on May 20 at around 10.20am.
Doreen has been left traumatised by the ordeal and has since suffered two heart attacks.
Police believe the woman who attacked Doreen was in the early stages of pregnancy in May — meaning she would be “heavily pregnant” now or recently have given birth.

She wasn’t expecting me, I tell you. I thought, ‘No, you’re not having my money, I’ve worked hard for that’.
She started screaming. I don’t know why she was screaming, it was me that should have been screaming and crying.
Doreen has been left traumatised by the ordeal and has since suffered two heart attacks.
Police believe the woman who attacked Doreen was in the early stages of pregnancy in May — meaning she would be “heavily pregnant” now or recently have given birth.
PSI Peter Rawlings of West Midlands Police said:
We believe she was watching Doreen before the incident and targeted her because she was elderly and had a stick.
Doreen’s a tough lady and this suspect chose the wrong pensioner. But it has had an effect on Doreen. She has had heart problems since the incident which may be linked.
