Man crashes own car in north Cyprus and tired to get compensation from insurance compnay but his plot is exposed

A man who purposely crashed his car onto a road side barrier in other to claim insurance for his car has been found out.

The accused was brought before a judge at a court in Kyrenia on Tuesday on charges of trying to obtain insurance by fraudulent means.

The accused is said to have deliberately hit a road side barrier on the way to Kyrenia on September, 5 and then called the police to provide information on the incident.

He was then questioned by the police officers during investigation where he confessed to have deliberately crashed the car.

Police said he admitted to have chose such a way to get compensation for the car from the insurance company.

The court ordered that the suspect be released on bail with 40,000 TL bond pending trial.
