Illegal residents, workers to be deported from TRNC as government plans new amnesty

The TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Security Faiz Sucuoğlu, has disclosed that illegal residents and workers without work permit will be deported in the near future after the necessary procedures were completed.

The Minister made the comments in a press conference held by the government on Tuesday as it celebrates 100 days in office.

Sucuoğlu emphasized that necessary legal procedures are being carried out against illegal residents and workers held during raids across the country.

According to him, there has been a very high number of informality in the last 10 years in work places which needs to be corrected.

He added that the Ministry has prepared an Amnesty Law on this subject. 

There are plans for the new amnesty law to be passed when the Parliament opens later in September.
