Girl, 10, filmed being forced to marry her 22-year-old cousin in Iran (VİDEO)

In the footage the girl appears unaware of what is happening and it has led to angry condemnation of a practice that campaigners say amounts to child rape.

It was taken in an impoverished area of rural Iran, where marriages between child brides and adult men are reportedly common.

In the video a mullah, an Arabic eqiuvalent of a vicar, says the groom will pay the traditional dowry for his bride’s hand of 14 gold coins and 50 million tomans, the local currency, equivalent to a total of £7,200.
