Tips for a longer life
Everyone wants to live longer but not many of us think of how we can do this.
There are some measures that increase your chances to live more healthily and, as a result, longer such as physical exercises, taking multivitamins, building a strong social network etc. But the most important tip here is to eat properly and getting enough nutrients from the food you eat. You basically have to eat more vegetables and fruit and exclude trans fats from your diet completely.
Besides, to avoid heart problems, doctors recommend eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon, shrimp, or trout. If you’re looking for nice seafood recipes you can start with szechuan shrimp or grilled shrimp marinade. Let’s start with the first one.

Start with shrimp marinade. Combine dark and light soy sauce, ground Szechuan peppercorns, sherry and cornstarch. Add the shrimp and mix well. Now get to the chili oil. Heat it in a sauce pan, pour it over dry red chili pepper flakes, mix well and let cool. Put chili in a separate container. Then heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok, add the shrimp along with the marinade and fry for 2-3 minutes. Put the shrimp into a separate bowl. Take the wok and put garlic, shallots and some chili oil in it. Sauté for half a minute, add bell peppers, broccoli and cook for 5 minutes. Finally, add the shrimp and cook for another minute. Serve in a hot bowl. Enjoy!
But what if you haven’t got much time but you still want to taste something good? Prepare the marinade. Mix garlic, paprika, cumin, olive oil and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl. Add shrimp to this mixture and mix well. Leave for 30 minutes. Then place shallots, garlic, soy sauce, lime juice and sugar and blend until smooth. You can also add green onion and blend it too. Season the mixture with black pepper. Pour the marinade over the shrimp and serve after 20 minutes.
The next important step to a long life is to quit smoking. This way you’ll avoid such diseases as stroke, osteoporosis and emphysema.
The good news is, if you quit smoking you’ll repair some damage fone to your health. But hurry up: it only works till you’re 50.
On your way to a happy and healthy life you should remember to enjoy both physical and mental activities every day. Go jogging, play chess, always try something new and things are going to be fine for you.
Also don’t forget to take your daily multivitamin. Although you may eat fruit and vegetables sometimes our bodies don’t get enough of some vitamins, such as vitamin D, for example. It’s especially important in winter when there are not so many sunny days.
One more thing: take care of your teeth, floss, brush them and visit your dentist regularly. Studies show that taking care of your teeth can protect them from cavity and other dental diseases.
And of course try to maintain a healthy weight and body shape. This way you’ll stay active even when you get older. Some people think healthy food isn’t tasty. Let me show you the opposite with this sauteed zucchini recipe. Just cut the zucchini in the shape you want (I prefer half-moons). Then melt some butter on a wide skillet, add the zucchini and garlic and cook for about 4 minutes. Don’t forget to stir! Season your dish with a little salt and black pepper. In case you’d like to add extra taste stir in some cheese and scallions.
Serve right away with lemon juice.
