Friday declared public holiday in North Cyprus and Turkey to celebrate the 97th anniversary of modern Turkey
Friday, August, 30 is public holiday in Turkey in north Cyprus to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the establishment of modern Turkey.
The day will be celebrated with ceremonies in Turkey with north Cyprus.
In north Cyprus, celebrations ceremonies will be held the capital Lefkosa and all districts.
Two ceremonies will be held on Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, in front of the Atatürk Monument in Lefkosa starting from 10:00am.
Several major roads will be closed to traffic during the ceremonies.
***One of the most important victories in Turkish history was the August 30 victory when the Turkish army under the command of Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal launched the Ta Great Attack in Afyon on August 26 to expel the invading Greeks from Anatolia and the destruction of the enemy in Dumlupınar.
