Prison staff slaps prisoner in front of lawyer at the Lefkosa Central Prison

Tension was high at the Lefkosa Central Prison in North Cyprus on Wednesday when a prison staff reportedly slapped a prisoner in front of a lawyer.

The incident happened on Wednesday, August, 7 when a lawyer representing the prisoner visited the prison to question his client.

 The incident that happened in the interview room was reportedly caught on camera.

The lawyer reported the incident to the police directorate and requested that the it be investigated. 

This is coming less than a week after a police officer was caught on camera assaulting a tourist at the Ercan Airport in Lefkosa.
