Cyprus Weather Today: Temperatures to reach 40 degrees inland
Thursday will be mainly fine with temperatures reaching 40 degrees inland.
Heatwave is expected to hit the island, which is expected to last until Saturday.
The Cyprus Met Office issued a yellow alert which will be in force from 1 pm to 4.30 pm on Thursday.
Temperatures will rise to 40 C inland, around 35 C on the south and east coast, around 33 C on the remaining coasts and around 31 C in the mountains.
At night, temperatures will fall to 23 C inland and on the coasts and to 18 C in the mountains.
Temperatures will be a little above average for the time of year, at least inland and in the mountains.
