Bride-to-be not happy with "little'' engagement ring from fiance of eight years

A bride-to-be has slated her fiance for getting her a "little a**" engagement ring after eight years together.

The woman asked if she was being "shady or materialistic" not liking the ring and whether she should tell "this m***********" that she did not want it.

In her original post she shared a photo of a thin gold band with a small diamond on her finger and wrote:

We been together for eight years and talking about getting married for almost three.
This is the ring he said he saved up to buy me. Am I being shady or materialistic if I tell this mf ion want this little a** ring?

A photo of her original post was shared on Reddit with the caption;

Not sure if this belongs here or not, but is this lady justified in that she doesn’t want the ring? Would you accept it?

The question resulted in very mixed responses, with some users insisting they love the "sleek and modern" ring and others asking: "Is that a diamond for ants?"

One person wrote:

I wonder if maybe he felt pressure to get something with a diamond and so brought it but it really just made it worse?
My wedding band cost $20 is silver with cubic zirconia because at the time, we were broke af and we didn't care how much the band cost, just that we had one and we were marrying.

Another back the woman up, writing:

If she's unhappy with it, she has every right to tell him. I don't think being unhappy with her ring makes her ungrateful or anything. She should have communicated her expectations more clearly.

Another person wrote:

I think I'd be more insulted to be given this ring than no ring at all,' said another. 'Like, just skip the ring altogether if you can't afford it. That's just embarrassing.

And another commented:

That is the saddest ring I've ever seen. I'm not a materialistic person, but it just doesn't even look good. She should talk to him if she's unhappy with it?
