5 Syrian refugees found in Yeşilköy, north Cyprus
A total of 5 asylum seekers from Syria including 4 men and 1 woman, were found in a land in Yeşilköy, north Cyprus.
It is assumed they came into the TRNC illegally in a speed boat 7-8 meter long found abandoned at the sea between Yeşilköy and Yenierenköy on Saturday.
They were taken to a Famagusta Court on Sunday and a three day detention order issued against them.
There were 11 people on the boat.
Police are carrying out a search in the area to determine if there are more asylum seekers in the area.
