Man detained for threatening to kill his wife in Lefkosa

A man was arrested in Lefkosa for threatening to murder his wife.

The accused was arrested on Monday, July, 22 and brought to a court in Lefkosa on Tuesday, July, 22 on charges of violence and threat to life.

According to report, the incident happened at about 9:00pm on Monday at the couples home in Lefkosa when the man told his wife to leave the house or he kill her. 

You will leave this house, I do not want you in this house. If you don't come out, blood will fall, I leave you crippled for fifteen years, if I kill it's thirty years, I'll eat, he said to his wife.

Police seized a knife from the apartment and took statements on the matter.

The man's wife said she did not want to continue living in the house because of the threat.

The suspect was ordered to remain in custody for 3 days for investigation.
