Student wanted for four months for kidnapping girlfriend in Girne, finally arrested

A student who kidnapped his girlfriend in Girne in February by violence because of jealousy has been arrested four months after the incident.

The accused was arrested at his resident at Fener Street on Tuesday, June, 18 and taken to court on Wednesday June, 19.

According to police report, the accused out of jealousy forcefully kidnapped his girlfriend, a Nigerian using an unknown vehicle and taking her to an unidentified resident in Girne.

He then allowed the girl to leave after 11 hours of forced detention.

The victim reported the matter to the police on February, 17 where she gave a statement about the incident.

The police then got an arrested order against the suspect on February, 21 and was then declared a wanted person.

The suspect was later found in Gine and arrested on Tuesday, June, 18.

The vehicle with which he carried out the act was also found.

He was given a two day detention order pending investigation.
