Student sentenced to 7 months in prison for stealing, happy for judgement
A student who was convicted of stealing in north Cyprus has been sentenced to seven months in prison.
The accused, an African student in Cyprus was arrested and detained in December, 2018 for allegedly entering a student residence in Haspolat and stealing 800 USD and 168 Turkish Lira.
The accused was found guilty of the crime by a Lefkosa court on Saturday and then sentenced to 7 months in prison.
Report say he was excited when he learnt that he will be jailed for a period of 7 months.
Anyone convicted of such a crime faces up to 5 - 7 years in jail.
So you can imagine why he is excited.
