Student jailed for three and a half month for drug crime
A student has been sentenced to three and a half month in prison by a Lefkosa court for drug crime.
The accused was arrested with drug substance weighing about 554 milligrams earlier in the year. He was taken to court on drug charges and held in detention until he was convicted and found guilty on Monday, June, 23.
Delivering judgement, court judge noted that drug offenses are on the rise in the country and poses a great threat to public health.
He sent a warning to those who might want to commit such crime to desist from such.
Considering the seriousness of the case, he ordered that the accused been jailed for a period of three and half month.
