One die in car - truck collision in a village in north Cyprus

One person was killed and another seriously injured in an accident involving a car and a truck in a village in north Cyprus on Wednesday.

According to police report, the incident happened at about 4:30pm on Wednesday at the out skirt of the village of Otuken when a truck collided with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction.

The car driver, 47 was killed in the accident and another seriously injured.

Police said the incident happened as a result of careless driving by the truck driver who collided with the vehicle.

The truck driver identified as Orun Cumayev, 38 was arrested.

The investigation continues.
