Yellow weather alert for Cyprus as temperatures hit record high
Record temperatures for May were recorded on Wednesday reachiing as high as 42 degrees, and it may get even hotter on Thursday and Friday.
The
Cyprus met office has issued yet a yellow weather alert for Thursday,
warning temperatures will peak at 41C inland.
The warning is in force from 11am until 4pm.
The highest temperature on Wednesday was reported as, 42.1C.
This is a new record for May, the Met office announced, and this record may be broken on Thursday.
Normal temperatures for Nicosia for this time of the year are 31.6C.
