Woman found murdered and found near Ercan Airport in north Cyprus identified
The body of a foreign woman which was found near Ercan airport in
January, has been formally identified as that of Vietnamese national Dam Thi Hop (40).
She was reported missing about 18 months ago.
Suspicions over her identity were raised regarding the potential involvement of suspected Greek Cypriot serial killer Nicos Metaxas.
Dam Thi Hop, 40, worked as a domestic worker in the home of an elderly woman in the north. She disappeared in October 2017.
Her badly-decomposed body was found in January this year near the airport in the north.
According to Turkish Cypriot media, the body of Hop will be sent to her relatives in Vietnam.
