Shop owner in Famagusta threatens to rape and kill his tenant
A 32-year-old man in Famagusta district who threatened to rape and kill his tenant has been arrested and detained by the police.
The man only identified as Mesut T. committed the crime on May, 15 at the Big Mama restaurant on Bahriyeli Street in Famagusta.
The accused who is also a university student in Northern Cyprus, had told the tenant to pay her electricity debt or leave the shop.
According to statements made to the police, an argument started between them when the accused told the tenant; If you don't leave this shop, I will burn you and the shop. I will rape you.
The tenant thereafter reported the accused to the Gazimağusa police who was arrested and detained.
