Nigerian student, Kubiat Abasi Okon went camping with friends when he disappeared, Friends pays tribute

24-Year old Nigerian student, Kubiat Abasi Okon who drowned in a dam in Geçitköy on Saturday morning was with a group of 25 friend who went for camping near the area when he disappeared.

According to Turkish Cypriot media, Okon disappeared at about 9:00am after entering the dam to swim.

His friends alerted the police when they could not find him.

Civil Defense Organization and Police Special Operations Directorate teams quickly launched a search mission for him.

A male body was later found in the pond at 12.45pm.

Okon was a student at the Eastern Mediterranean University.

His friends paid tribute to him on social media.

Rest In Peace bro. This shit hurt real bad.
