Manchester United devise plan to sell Sanchez in summer
Manchester United go to extreme lengths to
get rid of Alexis Sanchez and pay half of his huge £26million salary to sell him this summer, according to the Mail.
The Chilean is currently paid £500,000 a week by the club, despite
starting only eight Premier League matches this season. United's chiefs
have come to a realisation that they will have to pay half of his
contract in order for a club to realistically be tempted to make a move
for Sanchez.
***: In hindsight, it's easy to label Sanchez's move to Manchester as an expensive mistake. The 30-year-old might've joined without a transfer fee (with Henrikh Mkhitaryan swapping clubs with him to move to Arsenal) but Sanchez has only returned five goals in over 14 months at United. His mammoth contract acts as a deterrent to any potential transfer away from the club, so it wouldn't be the worst thing for United if they were to take a £13 million hit to release a player who barely features and reduce their wage budget by £250,000 a week.
