Cyprus Weather Report: Stable weather and dust in the atmosphere

Friday will be start off mainly fine, however increased cloud after noon may lead to scattered showers mainly in the mountains, inland and on the east.

Temperatures will be 24 inland, 23 C on the south coasts, 22 C on the north, west and east coasts and 15 C in the mountains.

Temperatures are expected to start edging up on Saturday, however they will remain below the average for the time of year.

High levels of dust in the atmosphere and average temperatures are expected for May.

The phenomenon is commonplace in May and is often accompanied by severe dust episodes.

In its seasonal forecast the Met office said that temperatures in May will be average in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.

In April, temperatures were average, the met office said, however rainfall reached 37.9mm which is 165% of the average precipitation for the month.
