Bottle water from water companies in north Cyprus 'not tested in 2 years'
Three more bottled water companies in north Cyprus have been
selling supplies contaminated with a compound linked to liver and kidney
damage and which may also cause cancer.
The latest tests found that 0.5 and 1.5-litre bottles of water from Aqua Fresh contained 14 microgrammes per litre of bromate, which has a legal maximum of 10 microgrammes per litre, while ”glass-sized” Gürpinar containers had 19 microgrammes and 0.33-litre bottles produced by MeySu 39 microgrammes of the substance.
All three companies were given time to reduce bromate in future supplies.
