26-year-old student found dead at his home in Lefke

A 26-year-old student was found dead on Monday morning at his home in Lefke.

Batuhan Burak Atabey, a student at the European University of Lefke, Faculty of Law, was found dead on Monday morning in an apartment in Gemikonagi where he was staying.

His lifeless body was discovered at 09:00am on Monday by the son of the landlord.

According to information obtained on the incident at the scene of the incident, Batah Burak Atabey woke up at about 04:00am in the morning to eat and went back to sleep.

The landlord's son found Atabey in his bed with foam coming out of his mouth at about 9am. He immediately called the ambulance, but it was too late for Atabey.

The Lefke Police Station team and Güzelyurt crime scene examined the house after the incident.

Batuhan Burak Atabey's body was taken to the Lefkosa State Hospital Morgue for an autopsy.

A medical examination on Atabey's body revealed no traces of beatings. The exact cause of  Atabey's death would be determined by  an autopsy.

Police investigation into Atabey's death continues.
