Walshak Augustine Ngok was killed by roommate over a girl
Augustine was found dead in a forest area in Haspolat on Friday, April, 19. An autopsy result carried out by the police revealed that he died from head trauma and suffocation.
12 people were later arrested in connection with the murder while six of them were released on Wednesday after they were found to have no connection with the murder.
The other six were given an extended prison time after appearing in court on Thursday.
According report by Turkish Cypriot daily, Kibris, more findings by the police revealed that the prime suspect identified as Ezeh Christopher, 26 killed Augustine who also happen to be his roommate over a girl.
On the day of the incident, it was learnt that the suspect and the victim who both took alcohol were in the company of some friends in a restaurant in Girne eating when trouble started due to issues over a girl.
Some of their friends who were there and also arrested in connection with the murder had tried to broker peace between them before police arrived the scene. The two is said to have continued fighting when they later got home.
Kibris reported that, Christopher beat Walshak Augustine severely which made him unconscious. He then dragged him down the stairs of the apartment into his car where he continued to beat a helpless Augustine while driving to Taskent in Haspolat.
When he noticed that his victim was no longer breathing, he decided to throw him at the entrance of the forest area in Haspolat instead of going to the hospital.
The other suspects confessed that they could not prevent the accused due to the severity of his anger.
