Two Nigerians released from prison in the murder case of Nigerian student Walshak Augustine Ngok
Two people out of six held in connection with the murder of Nigerian student, Walshak Augustine Ngok, 25 have been released from detention after they were found innocent.
Walshak Augustine Ngok was found dead in a forest area in Haspolat on Friday, April, 19. 12 people were later arrested in connection with the incident in two separate operations carried out in Gonyeli and an apartment located in the Lavinyum Site in Dikmen on Sunday, April 21.
One of those arrested and identified as Christopher Ezeh, 29, and a roommate to the victim confessed to killing Augustine after a row and taking his body to a forest area.
Six of the 12 people arrested were released on Wednesday last week after they were found to have no connection with the murder.
Another two, Afamaefuna Henry Uwadibie and Ambrose Kelechi Onyeukwu, both Nigerians were released on Monday, April, 29 after more investigation revealed that they had no connection with the murder.
They were represented by Turkish Cypriot lawyer, Ramadan.
Four more people including the prime suspect, who is a Nigerian, a Ghanaian and two Zimbabweans, a male and a female are still being held and investigated for the murder.
They will be brought to court on Saturday, May, 4, 2019.
