TRNC fears another new TL crisis
Fresh Turkish lira crisis could be at the
door, it is feared, as experts and ministers fear the TRNC will
“inevitably” be dragged in again.
Spiraling exchange rates over the last week have sparked alarm that the
financial woes of last summer are returning.
Days of currency
volatility — fueled by US-Turkey tensions and concerns over the Turkish
economy in the run-up to the country’s local elections on Sunday — saw
the lira lose some 6 per cent against hard currencies last Friday.
