Senegalese arrested at Ercan airport for trying to exit the country with a fake French passport

Medoune Ba, was identified as a tourist who arrived the country with a Senegalese passport but then decided to check out with a fake French passport at his disposal, was arrested at the Ercan airport in Lefkosa on Tuesday.

Ba, 28 was brought to a court in Lefkosa on Tuesday on charges of  using and holding a fake passport.

According to police witness, Medoune Ba, at about 01.00 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, was found with a fake French passport at the passenger exit hall of the Ercan Airport.

He was arrested why going through emigration process. 

He came to the country on February, 27, 2019 with his Senegal Passport and a 30-day visa was issued to him at the point of entry which expired on March, 29 2019 but did not exit the country and was residing in the country without a permit.

He was given a three day detention order by the judge for the investigation to be carried out.
