North Cyprus to establish a national airline
Efforts are underway to establish a national airline company in North Cyprus through
private sector investments, said the TRNC Minister of Tourism and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu.
Speaking on BRT on Monday, the Minister said ticket prices had dropped with the new flights launched by Anadolu Jet.
He said that a round trip to Turkey now cost around 400 Turkish Liras.
Regarding the creation of a national airline, Ataoğlu said that this was not an impossible dream.
He said that he had presented a plan to Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman who had brought up the issue during his recent trip to Turkey.
Ataoğlu added that the first reactions from Turkey were positive.
The Tourism Minister also said that work to develop tourism in the country was continuing.
