Murdered student identified following arrest
The identity of a student who was found dead at a forest area in Haspolat on Friday morning has been revealed.
According to police report released on Sunday evening, the deceased was found to be known with the name Walshak Augustine Ngok and 25 years of age.
His identification came as a result of the operation carried out in Gonyeli on Sunday in which nine people, all foreigners were arrested and detained for investigation purpose.
A rental vehicle believed to have been used in the incident was was found in the garden of the house where the suspects were arrested and confiscated.
According to the initial findings, it was learned that 3 people had a direct connection to the murder.
A quick check on his Facebook page showed that he was a student at the Near East University and a Nigerian.
The police is investigating the case.
