Man arrested with counterfeit notes in Güzelyurt, police urge public to be careful
42-year-old man has been arrested for using counterfeit money to buy fuel at two different petrol stations in Güzelyurt.
The accused identified only as, A.A went to two different petrol stations operating on İzzet Kombos Boulevard and bought petrol worth 200 TL.
The incident happened between April, 10-13, 2019.
According to media report, the accused paid both petrol station with two counterfeit notes in 200TL domination with serial number, B 178290171.
The matter was reported to the police who identified, arrested and detained the suspect.
A total of 9 more counterfeit 200TL bank notes with the same serial number were seized from him.
Police have issued a warning to the public to be watchful because of the possibility that the counterfeit notes might have been circulated in the market.
