Man arrested in Giine for stealing whisky and other items worth over 5,000 Turkish Lira
A 30-year-old man has been charged with stealing goods worth over 5,000 Turkish Lira from a shopping center in Girne, north Cyprus.
The accused, 30 was arrested on Monday in Gine after he was identified as reportedly stealing drinks, toilet paper and chips worth 5,000TL from a shopping center in the city of Karankum in Girne.
He was brought to a Girne court on Tuesday.
He was accused of stealing a Chivas Regal brand whisky, five piece of Black Label brand whisky, 4 piece of Jack Daniels whisky, some beer, eight pack of toilet paper and chips.
Police said, several stolen items were found in his house during a search. He came into the country on January, 18, 2019 through the Famagusta port.
He will remain in police custody for two days pending trial.
