Drunk Turkish Cypriot man assaults wife
A man was arrested on Wednesday in Lefkosa for violence against his wife while under the influence of alcohol.
The accused, Bahadir Seleker, was arrested on charges of assaulting his wife at about 12:00am on Wednesday at their home in Lefkosa and taken to a court in Lefkosa.
According to police report, the man who was drunk assaulted his wife following a heated arguement.
The woman was taken to the emergency room of the Lefkosa State Hospital on the same day. She was examined by a doctor, and a medical report was obtained and the suspect was arrested.
The accused, a citizen of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus signed a bond of 50 thousand and released on bail pending trial.
