Students join other cultural association to celebrate Turkish Cypriot community Diversity Festival organized in Lefkosa
Local people, International Students and Tourists on Friday took part in the Diversity Festival organized in Bedesten, Lefkosa, North Cyprus in the framework of the European Commission's Week Against Racism in Europe.
The event was held between the hours of 3:00pm - 5:00pm on Friday.
OneWorship, Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association, KUIR Cyprus and Universal Patient Rights Association, brought together different cultural groups including French Cultural Association, German Cultural Association, Akova Women's Association, Palestinian Students Group, African Students Group, East and South East Culture Association, Cyprus Folk Dance Team (TUFAD), aimed at celebrating the cultural diversity of The Turkish Cypriot community.
At each stand, information on different cultures was presented along with the cultures. On the other hand, music and dance performances of different cultural groups attracted great interest.
At at least 10 countries were represented at the stand.
The European Week of Action Against Racism, which is celebrated every year between 16 and 24 March, brings together people with different origins and stories to combat racism and prejudice.
In these events, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions and local governments come together and stand upright against racism.
