North Cyprus to launch the construction of a new airport six times the size of Ercan (photos)
The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) is set to launch the construction of a new multi million dollar Airport that will be six times larger the the present Ercan Airport.
The new airport which will cover 7 million 800 thousand square meters opposite Ercan Airport will serve about 5 million passengers a year.
It will have 60 check-in, 44 passport control points, 26 x-ray devices and 5,000 luggage capacity per hour.
Construction of the new Ercan Airport, which is the biggest investment of the TRNC will become one of the most important tourism gates of Cyprus and it will change the face of the island when it is completed.
