Manchester City could be banned from Champions League
Manchester City could be in more trouble with UEFA and the FA
after more revelations came from German paper Der Spiegel.
A new report
alleges that the club misled the FA over the ownership of Bruno Zuculini.
Other email reportedly show that the club have made their income appear
to be from sponsorship deals rather than directly from Sheikh Mansour,
the owner.
The Mail on Sunday claims that City could face a ban from the Champions League as a result.
*** Financial Fair Play regulations are not exactly fair, because there is no reason that a club’s owner should be prevented from spending as he sees fit, but rules are rules. There are evidently matters for City to make clear to the authorities, and there is no benefit to speculating with any certainty what will happen, but it would presumably only be their fans who are willing to argue their case now.
