Lefke Governor issues warning, tells residents not to use water due to leakage from mines

Lefke Governor has issued a warning regarding leakage from mines. 

The Lefke Governor said that the area where the copper mine in located in South Cyprus has leaked and some of this leakage has seeped through to an area near the Lefke Çamlıköy Sivri Tepe region.

The statement calls on locals not to use the water themselves or for providing water for their animals or agricultural purposes as the leakage has reached the Lefke regulator, Çamlıköy regulator and the Güzelyurt reservoir.

The governor will inform the citizens when it is safe to use the water once again.
