Four people arrested by the Greek Cypriot police for entering the country illegally through border with north Cyprus
Four illegal immigrants and a fifth were arrested by the Greek Cypriot police on Wednesday evening on suspicion of
entering the country illegally.
According to the report by philenews, the fifth was arrested on suspicion of assisting them.
During a patrol, around 10 pm on Wednesday, members of the police spotted a car moving inside fields near the buffer zone in Nicosia and stopped it.
The driver was a 41 year old, while the passengers, three men and a woman were identified as third-country nationals.
According to police, the passengers refused to provide identification, however the officers managed to find their details after searching their travel documents.
The five people were detained pending inquiries.
