Flood causes double accidents along the Lefkosa-Girne high way
Two different accidents occurred on the same spot at different time on Friday along the Lefkosa-Girne high way.
According to information released by the police on Friday, the two accidents on the Lefkosa-Girne happened as a result of rapid water flow causing the drivers to lose control of the wheels.
The first accident happened at around 1:00pm when a 29-year-old driver driving towards the Girne direction of the road loss control of the wheel and hit a road side barrier due to flooding in the area. He was slightly injured in the accident and taken to a hospital in Lefkosa for observation.
The second accident happened at about 5:00pm when a 22-year-old driver also driving towards the Girne direction of the road entered a flooded area of the road caused by heavy rain and lost control of the steering before crashing onto a concrete by the side of the road. He was also injured in the incident and taken to the hospital.
