Student arrested for kidnapping another student
A student has been arrested and detained for kidnapping another student and demanding that he write off 50,000 euros debt.
The accused along with his accomplice reportedly kidnapped a university student from a university campus in Lefkosa on January, 9, 2019 and drove him in a car to the mountain area, north of Tashkent village where he was detained.
The victim was reportedly made to pay 25, 000 Turkish LIRA to a person who could not be identified.
The accused was later arrested and taken to a court in Lefkosa on charges of kidnapping.
The accused gave voluntary testimony in court.
The police are still searching for three people in connection with the incident.
