Predicting 2019’s biggest transfer stories

Here’s a look into which names will be dominating 2019.

Paul Pogba
Pog-actually-back?
Under Jose Mourinho, it looked as though Paul Pogba’s time at Manchester United was coming to an end. The ‘virus’ of United’s squad was being linked with a move back to Juventus, the club he left some years ago for a then world-record move, where he had won four Serie A titles and four cups to boot.

**But now Mourinho has left Old Trafford, Pogba’s future once more hangs in the balance. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Frenchman is looking every bit of the player that helped his nation to World Cup glory in the summer, having scored four times in the last two matches, and as each game passes, the murmurs of discontent could well subside.

However, United have a big decision to make in the summer with their managerial appointment, but also on their pick of technical director, which will likely happen sooner. That as-yet-vacant position will dictate the future of many of the club’s stars – expect Pogba to be high on the priority list.

Sanchez out at Old Trafford?
Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United
It is not even 12 months since Alexis Sanchez switched with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and made the move up north from Arsenal to Manchester United, but already the Chilean is being linked away from Old Trafford. The forward has flopped at United, but his £500,000-a-week wages reportedly make him very difficult to offload.

Back in November the Telegraph claimed United and Sanchez were stuck in a fruitless relationship, but if his performances continue to disappoint, it may not be long before he is shown the door.

Hazard off to Real?
The biggest will he, won’t he of the summer could well be surrounding Eden Hazard’s decision to stay at Chelsea or move to Real Madrid. The Belgian’s flirtation with Real has been longstanding, and with the playmaker yet to commit his long-term future at Chelsea, the rumours will likely persist and then intensify once the season draws to a close, especially as he said we will wait to make a decision until the end of the campaign.
