Woman who was about to be evicted from an apartment in Famagusta attempt suicide (live video)
A woman believed to be Turkish, have attempted suicide by climbing to the roof of the apartment building located in Famagusta and threatening to commit suicide if evicted from her apartment.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon.
The live video was shared on Facebook by Turkish Cypriot daily, Haber.
Police can be seen in the video trying calm things down as residents look on in horror.
Further report revealed that the woman identified as Sıdıka Öztürk was to be evicted from the apartment following a court order.
She tried to resist every attempt to evict her by climbing to the roof top and holding a knife and threatened to commit suicide.
The police and firefighters tried to convince her and one other person to drop the weapon.
Report say, Ozturk, made a similar attempt to take her life years ago.
