Illegal resident who burgled a restaurant in Girne jailed for 45 days
A man with an illegal residency in north Cyprus have been arrested and sent to prison on charges of burglary on two different occasion in Girne.
The accused was arrested in Girne earlier this week and taken to a Girne district court for trial.
According to police report, the accused had on December, 24, 2018 and January, 4, 2019 opened and burgled a car and a shop respectively.
On December, 24, 2018, the accused broke into a restaurant operating in the Girne Yacht Harbor and took away 8,000TL in cash, a wristwatch, a laptop, two cell phones and a camera recorder.
On January, 4, 2019, the same accused stole four gold plated medals, 250TL, 375 euros, cigars, a mobile phone from a car.
Police said two cameras, a wristwatch, a mobile phone was found in his possession following his arrest.
Police said, the accused who entered the country on November, 10, 2018 and continued to remain in the country even though his one month visa has expired, accepted the accusation leveled against him.
He was sent to prison for a period of 45 days until trial.
