A hit and run driver who hit two teenage boys in Girne at the weekend said he didn't remember the incident.
Saban Aygın, 45 who escaped after bumping on two children (both 16-years old) with a car on Saturday, January, 5 at a pedestrian crossing at Naci Talat Street, Girne was arrested few minutes later after he tried to escaped.
At the time of his arrest, he was found drunk with 183 promil alcohol.
He told police in his first statement after his arrest that he did not remember the incident. He said there was a problem with his knees.
His record showed that he had committed the same crime years ago and has a record of 7 excessive speed.
He was taken to a Girne court and detained for 20 days until trial.
The two boys were taken to a hospital in Girne where they were responding to treatment.
